Ahmadinejad calls Israel a permanent threat to Islamic world
The president, who addressed the emergency summit of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in Putrajaya, added big powers in the West also support the Zionist regime’s existence and security.
“The United States and Britain and a considerable number of Western governments are the political, financial, and military backers of the Zionist regime,” said Ahmadinejad adding, “All the values they are pretending to support, including human rights and nations’ right to determine their own fate have been victimized for this regime.
“It is meaningless to the supporters of the Zionist regime to avoid killing civilians, women, and the unsheltered people and to refuse using unconventional weapons.
“To these countries, Lebanon does not reserve the right to defend itself. Hezbollah that symbolizes resistance of the Lebanese people and Muslims should not defend its land and people.
“To these states, it is the absolute right of the Zionist regime to massacre the innocent people, continuously bombard the cities, and devastate the infrastructures.”
The president regretted that the support for the Zionist regime is so important for these Western countries that even the United Nations Security Council should be victimized.
“We, as an important part of the Islamic world, have a great mission. We have to adopt appropriate stances and policies and block the invasions and alleviate some part of the Lebanese people’s pains.”
Ahmadinejad called for immediate cease-fire, underlining that the peace and security should be kept in Lebanon by the Lebanese people and government.
“The presence of foreign troops is not acceptable, unless they are under the United Nations command,” said the president adding, “The arrangements should be made for the return of refugees and prisoners should be swapped.
“The losses Lebanon has sustained should be paid by the invaders and their supporters particularly the U.S. and Britain.”
He urged the Islamic states to help reconstruct the devastated areas in Lebanon.
Ahmadinejad proposed to regional and Islamic countries to sever their overt and covert political and economic ties with the fabricated Zionist regime and also isolate the U.S., Britain and all backers of Israel.
