SHIRAZ, Fars Province Head of Iran's Environment Protection Organization (IEPO) Masoumeh Ebtekar said here on Friday that her organization does not have any legal duty to prevent possible pollution caused by the nuclear tests of India and Pakistan. Ebtekar told reporters that the task of preventing possible pollution cause by such tests rests with Iran's Atomic Energy Organization (IAEO). She warned that the surface and underground water pollution has been turned into a serious environmental problem.
Factories, which do not benefit from the process of sewage disposal for refining their industrial waste waters are most responsible for pollution of the surface and underground waters, elucidated Ebtekar. (IRNA)
