Iran, Greece, Armenia to Expand Transportation Cooperation

TEHRAN - The Islamic Republic of Iran, Greece and Armenia signed on Saturday a memorandum of understanding aiming to expand and deepen tripartide cooperation in the fields of transport and communications. The MOU underlines the need for further promotion of trilateral cooperation in fields of surface and air transportation, transit of goods and passengers as well as technical and educational cooperation among the three countries, Pulic Relations Office of the Road and Transport Ministry announced on Saturday. It was agreed that in order to expedite international transport cooperation, the three countries conider issuing three year long visa for drivers of vehicles transporting passengers and cargoes between the three states.

The parties to the MOU also voiced readiness to render any kind of services needed for construction of roads, terminals and other infrastructural installations vital for transportation industry. The MOU was signed in pursuant of an agreement reached during the first meeting of the foreign ministers of Iran, Greece and Armenia last year. (IRNA)
