Iranian Ambassador Meets Turkish Deputy Premier

ANKARA Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey Bulent Ecevit told Iranian Ambassador to Ankara Mohammad Hossein Lavasani here Thursday that his government supports a foreign policy with an emphasis on regional concerns. He said President Hojjatoleslam Mohammad Khatami of Iran has taken office as the result of a democratic process, and that since his coming to office Turkey has emphasized its commitment to closer relations with Iran. The Iranian ambassador told the Turkish official that relations between Iran and Turkey are already very good, and that he has the support of ranking Iranian officials for further developing relations between the two countries.
