TEHRAN The new Bosnian ambassador to Tehran, Ahmad Khalilovic, here on Tuesday said ``The government and nation of Bosnia-Herzegovina, highly appreciate the support by the Iranian leadership and nation during the uneven war in Bosnia.'' In a meeting with Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi to present his copy of credentials, Khalilovic further lauded Iranian role in the construction of the post-war Bosnia. ``The presence of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Bosnia is quite constructive and of high importance to the Bosnian government,'' he said.

The ambassador expressed hope that the amicable relations between the two countries, specially in the economic field, would further grow during his mission to Tehran. Kharrazi highlighted the deep interest of the Iranian nation in the Bosnian people's destiny, evidence of which, he said, was the Iranian support for Bosnian people during the war. Declaring Iran's readiness to expand its cooperation with Bosnia, Kharrazi expressed hope for stronger bonds amongst various ethnic groups in Bosnia. (IRNA)
