IIRR Managing Director Leaves for Tbilisi to Attend OSJD Meeting

TEHRAN -- Deputy Minister of Roads and Transportation and Managing Director of the Iranian Islamic Republic Railways (IIRR) Mohammad Saidnejad here on Wednesday left for Tajik capital Tbilisi to attend the 31st ministerial meeting of the Organization for Railway Cooperation (OSJD) member states.
A report released by IIRR public relations department said the meeting will mainly focus on OSJD performance in 2002, coordination among member states on the implementation of express, ultra-fast and container trains on Asian and European routes and complementing laws on transport of risky freight.
"The latest development on formation of a special fund for scientific and research studies as well as the working agenda and preliminary budget predicted for 2004 will also be discussed in the upcoming meeting," it added.
The three-day meeting (June 18-20) is being attended by 25 member states including Iran, Georgia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Hungary, China, Moldova, Poland, Russia and Romania.
