Leader: Armed Forces Strongly Protect National Interests

TEHRAN -- Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ali Khamenei Thursday afternoon in Chabahar, southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan, called Iran's forces as the powerful arms of the nation in defending the independence and territorial integrity of the country.

Ayatollah Khamanei, addressing a joint military parade at Chabahr's air base, said Iran has the most sensitive shores on the Persian Gulf that overlook the most important oil fields in the world, stressing that Iran's armed forces stand vigilant to strongly defend the rights of the Iranian nation.

He further stressed that the people of Iran appreciate every inch of the Iranian territory.

Ayatollah Khamanei also highlighted the need that Iran's armed forces use the most advanced military technology, and promote Iran's defense capability relying on the experiences of the 1980-88 Iraqi imposed war.
