World Registration of Takht-e Soleiman by UNESCO Experts

TEHRAN -- The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) experts arrived in the historical city of Takht-e Soeliman to study the site for world registration.

The historical complex of Takht-e Soleiman is 4th candidate to be listed in the world historical monuments, and UNESCO representatives have traveled to West Azarbaijan to discuss the matter with the provincial officials, said the head of West Azarbaijan Cultural Heritage Organization (CHO).

He added that the world enlistment of the site is an important achievement which can help to introduce the historical sites of the province such as Hassanloo Mound, Church of Qareh, Bastam Castle and Baghcheh-Jouq Palace.

Moreover, professional divers are studying the bed of Joushan lake of Takht-e Soleiman with the help of especial cameras to register the documentaries of the lake.

Takht-e Soleiman complex is located in south of West Azarbaijan and dates back to Sassanid era.
