Iranian Housewives to Be Insured Soon

TEHRAN - A plan to insure housewives will be implemented by the Welfare Organization in six pilot cities, the director of the Welfare Organization, Mohammadreza Rah-Chamani, told reporters on the anniversary of the establishment of the Welfare Organization.
He said that widows would be given priority, and that unemployed housewives will also be eligible.
He stated that Kashmar, Ardestan, Roudbar, Noshahr, Urumieh, and Yasouj are the pilot cities and that about 13 million housewives will be insured during the next decade.
According to the plan, the women must pay a monthly premium of 50,000 rials and the organization will pay an equal amount. The insured people will receive permanent coverage after 5-7 years.
