Portuguese Castle in Chahbahar Being Rebuilt

TEHRAN - The Portuguese castle located near Chahbahar is being rebuilt with the aim of attracting more tourists by restoring cultural and historical monuments. Since it is located near the historic village of Tis, it is known as Tis Castle.
The director of the Chahbahr Cultural Heritage Office, Mohsen Nazari, said that Tis Castle was surveyed last year to determine its boundaries and it is being renovated this year.
Some ancient artifacts such as golden coins and women's jewelry from the Sassanid era were discovered in the area of the castle and are now being kept in the Zahedan Museum.
