VIENNA Austrian Deputy Foreign Minister Benita Ferrero Waldner expressed pleasure over the trend of normalization of ties between the European Union and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Speaking to IRNA here, Waldner termed Iran as a powerful country in the region. Waldner said if Iran-EU relations are fully normalized, they can open dialogue with Iran on regional crisis including situation in Afghanistan and Iraq. Waldner said that Secretary General of the Austrian Foreign Ministry Albert Rohan will soon pay a visit to Iran, adding that earlier another high-ranking Foreign Ministry official was to travel to Tehran but the plan was changed.
