TEHRAN Former world boxing champion Muhammad Ali paid a visit to rescue workers searching through the rubble of the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York, and asked the people to avoid blaming the religion of Islam for September 11 terrorist attacks in the United States.

"It felt like a dream, like a movie. I didn't think it was something that was happening in real life," AFP quoted Ali as saying."

Lonnie, Ali's wife, who also accompanied the Muslim boxing legend, said: "Islam is not a religion of hate. It's a religion of love."
