TEHRAN - The head of Iran’s National Water and Wastewater Engineering Company has said that 36 new water treatment plants are under construction across the country, Tasnim News Agency reported.

Hashem Amini put the total processing capacity of the mentioned plants at 2.664 million cubic meters.

According to the official, currently 178 water treatment plants with a total capacity of 13.827 million cubic meters are in operation throughout the country to provide safe and sanitary drinking water.
