TEHRAN – French coach Patrice Carteron has been chosen to take charge of Sepahan football club.

Carteron, 54, led Qatari club Umm Salal last season.

He has previously led Cannes, Egyptian Al Ahly, Morocco’s Raja CA,  Mali national team and Saudi teams Al-Nassr and Al-Ettifaq.

Carteron will replace Portuguese coach Jose Morais.

Sepahan lead the Iran football league with 21 points out of 10 matches.

The team also have a chance to advance to the 2024/25 AFC Champions League Two next stage.
