Annual MTCP alumni gathering in Tehran celebrates Malaysia-Iran ties
TEHRAN- The Malaysian Embassy in Tehran recently hosted its much-anticipated annual gathering for alumni of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP) on November 15, 2024 at Nakaya Restaurant.
The event brought together 50 MTCP alumni, as well as members of the media, to celebrate the strong ties fostered between Malaysia and Iran.
Since 1980, MTCP has created opportunities for participants worldwide to gain skills and build networks, and Iranian alumni have been active contributors, applying their expertise in sectors ranging from finance to disaster response.
Addressing the ceremony, Malaysian Ambassador to Iran Khairi bin Omar expressed pride in the accomplishments of these alumni, noting, “Our MTCP alumni are more than just participants—they are ambassadors for the shared values and goals that define the Malaysia-Iran relationship.”
The gathering included discussions on the alumni’s achievements and collaborative projects and underscored the Embassy’s commitment to sustaining strong connections with Iran through knowledge-sharing and capacity-building. Alumni were able to reconnect, share experiences, and explore new possibilities for joint initiatives, emphasizing the lasting impact of MTCP in Iran. The Embassy looks forward to deepening these partnerships and supporting new avenues of cooperation in the future.
