More terrorists eliminated in SE Iran after string of operations
TEHRAN – The deputy commander of the Quds base of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force has announced the elimination and capture of ten additional terrorists in southeastern Sistan and Baluchistan province.
Major General Ahmad Shafaei indicated that security personnel from the Centre of Intelligence Directorate of Sistan and Baluchistan, along with operational units from the Quds base and anti-terrorism forces of Faraja, successfully dealt significant blows to the enemy's proxy terrorist groups.
Shafaei further mentioned that in the most recent operation, six terrorists were captured in southern Sistan and Baluchistan, while four others were killed.
Shafaei noted that since last week, a total of 14 terrorists have been arrested and eight have been killed during security operations in the region.
The commander highlighted that key members of the terrorist group responsible for the martyrdom of security defenders in the Gohar Koh Taftan area are among those apprehended.
“Substantial quantities of weapons and ammunition, including those of American origin, have been confiscated from these individuals, and efforts to apprehend those responsible for unrest and insecurity in Sistan and Baluchistan continue, Shafaei concluded.
On October 26, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in the southeastern Iranian town of Taftan, located in the Sistan and Baluchistan province. A group of terrorists ambushed a police convoy, leading to the martyrdom of ten Iranian border guards and Police officers.
