Calm night in Tehran: emergency services report no incidents
TEHRAN - Despite Israeli claims of strikes targeting Iran, Tehran and its surrounding areas have reported no incidents requiring emergency response, according to officials.
Officials of the capital's emergency response team say so far no incidents requiring assistance have been recorded in Tehran and its surrounding areas, adding emergency services will remain on high alert.
Tehran's Mehrabad international airport and the Imam Khomeini international airport are also operating normally.
The Israeli military announced in the early hours of Saturday that it was carrying out strikes against military sites on Iranian territory. While citizens have reported hearing explosions in western Tehran and the neighboring city of Karaj, footage so far shows no clear aftermath of alleged Israeli attacks. Iran's armed forces have yet to address the situation.
