Sunni clergy in Iran voice strong support for Operation True Promise II
TEHRAN – In a letter addressed to Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, more than 3,000 Sunni clerics in Iran have expressed their full support and appreciation for the recent missile strike targeting Israeli military bases.
The attack was carried out by Iran in response to the assassination of key regional figures, including Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, and senior Iranian Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) commander General Abbas Nilforushan.
The clerics praised the Iranian armed forces for their decisive action, emphasizing the importance of the missile strike in boosting the morale of resistance forces committed to the liberation of Jerusalem (Quds). According to the letter, the operation not only demonstrated Iran’s military capabilities but also reaffirmed the nation's support for the broader struggle against the Zionist Israeli regime.
The military operation, dubbed "Operation True Promise II," took place last Tuesday and saw a reported 90% of Iranian missiles successfully hit their intended targets. The strike was noted as a direct retaliation for Israel's actions, and it underscored Iran’s resolve to respond forcefully to Israel's acts of aggression.
