Iranian documentary “Noqte” on screen at Zero Plus International Film Festival

TEHRAN- Last week, the 11th Zero Plus International Film Festival kicked off in Tyumen, Russia showcasing a remarkable array of cinematic talent with 87 films from 29 countries, including Iran, India, China, and Colombia. The TV BRICS International Media Network serves as the festival's international information partner.

The festival commenced on September 30 at the Palace of Culture "Neftyanik," where attendees not only enjoyed enthralling film screenings but were also treated to a vibrant concert featuring a variety of singers, TV BRICS reported.

Among the featured films is the Iranian documentary "Noqte", directed by Amir Valinejad, which explores the rich history of calligraphy art. 

"Noqte" delves into the rich history and intricate art of Iranian calligraphy, highlighting the importance of the 'noqte' (dot) as a fundamental element. The documentary has already garnered acclaim, winning the XXXII International Film Forum Golden Knight award and being nominated for the XXI National Award Laurel Branch.

Produced in 2020 with support from the Ibn Sina Islamic Culture Research Foundation, the film aims to advance knowledge of Islamic culture, science, and philosophy among scholars and students.

The agenda of the Zero Plus International Film Festival is brimming with engaging workshops and interactive sessions designed to enrich the cinematic experience.

Participants have the opportunity to take part in several educational projects, including a choreographic "Film Dance Workshop," a "Film Dubbing Workshop," performances, and additional film screenings. Art enthusiasts can explore the exhibition "Three Worlds" and the interactive display "City of Cinema," allowing visitors to dive deep into the film production process.

A distinguished jury, comprising representatives from the film industry in Iran, Russia, India, South Africa, and other nations, is tasked with reviewing the international competition entries. A highlight of the festival is the creative meetings and masterclasses led by these jury members, fostering an environment of learning and collaboration.

Additionally, the festival hosts the 7th International Forum on "Cinematic Pedagogy," bringing together educators, filmmakers, and cultural specialists from BRICS+ countries. This forum focuses on the latest trends in the film industry and media education while promoting international cooperation and dialogue within these vital fields.
