Iranian film producer Jalil Shabani passes away

TEHRAN- Veteran Iranian film producer Jalil Shabani passed away in a Tehran hospital on Thursday due to complications from a brain ailment. He was 57.

Shabani, who had undergone brain surgery last November and had been battling illness for the past two years, succumbed to his ailment after a month of hospitalization, ISNA reported. 

The news of his demise was announced by the Owj Arts and Media Organization, with whom he had collaborated on numerous projects, the report added. 

Shabani's last film, “Colonel Sorayya” directed by Leili Aaj, was released last year. He had also produced notable films such as “Unfinished Stories” by Pouria Azarbaijani, “Mansour” by Siavash Sarmadi, "Vow" by Mohsen Tanabandeh, and “The Misunderstanding” by Ahmadreza Motamedi.
