Iran Armed Forces praises Operation True Promise II, warns of further action
TEHRAN - The General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the country's most senior military body, has backed the IRGC's Tuesday operation against Israel, adding that more decisive action will ensue if the regime makes more hostile and illegal moves.
Under Operation True Promise II, Iran fired dozens of ballistic missiles at Israel to avenge its killing of high-ranking Resistance leaders, including Hamas' Ismail Haniyeh and Hezbollah's Sayyad Hassan Nasrallah.
The full text of the statement is as follows below:
Following the illegitimate actions of the Zionist regime, including the assassinations of Iranian advisors in Syria and Lebanon, the violation of our sovereignty, and the martyrdom of high-ranking figures like Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, Ismail Haniyeh, and Hezbollah leaders Mujahid Kabir, Jan Berkaf, and Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, as well as the massacre of innocent civilians in Lebanon and Palestine, the Islamic Republic of Iran has been forced to act. These actions have also claimed the life of our brave advisor, Major General Abbas Nilfroshan.
The child-killing regime of Israel and its international and regional supporters, particularly the criminal United States, must understand that Iran has never initiated a war and will never initiate one. However, we will not hesitate to defend our legitimate rights with exemplary strength and power against any violent aggression. Every aggressor will regret their actions.
The Armed Forces, in gratitude for the brave actions of our air force and the support of our army, Ministry of Defense, and Armed Forces, consider this operation a legitimate right. We warn that any retaliation by the aggressor regime will result in the destruction of its infrastructure in the occupied Palestinian territories. Furthermore, if supporting countries directly engage in aggression against Iran, their centers and interests will face powerful and regrettable attacks at the regional level.
