Tehran advocates for enhanced dialogue among Persian Gulf nations: Foreign Ministry
TEHRAN – Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani has reaffirmed Iran's commitment to fostering dialogue and collective cooperation among the countries of the Persian Gulf.
The announcement comes in light of discussions about a potential meeting of foreign ministers from Persian Gulf states during the recent UN General Assembly session.
Kanaani highlighted that meetings with high-ranking officials from Persian Gulf countries are part of the agenda for both the Iranian President and Foreign Minister at the UN Assembly. He noted that several discussions have already taken place, with more scheduled as time allows.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran welcomes and supports holding such a meeting to strengthen and consolidate joint cooperation among the countries in the Persian Gulf," Kanaani stated. He emphasized that any such meeting would require consensus and coordination among all nations in the region.
The spokesperson reiterated Iran's dedication to enhancing dialogue and collaboration, aiming to expand and diversify constructive relations among Persian Gulf states.
