TEHRAN – Head of the Tehran Leather Producers Union Mahmoud Mousavi says Iran is self-sufficient in producing 80 percent of the raw materials needed in producing different kinds of bags, IRIB reported.

“80 percent of the raw materials for bag production, including artificial leather and fittings, and zippers, are produced in domestic factories, and 20 percent is imported,” Mousavi said.

“Many producers of this industry are trying to improve the quality and quantity of their products by importing new industrial machines from China and Italy and establishing new factories,” the official added.
