Iran FM reaffirms commitment to support Resistance against Israel
TEHRAN - Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has once again emphasized the Islamic Republic's steadfast policy of supporting Resistance forces in their ongoing struggle against the Israeli occupation.
During a meeting on Monday evening with Salah Fahs, the representative of Lebanon’s Amal Movement in Tehran, Araghchi pledged unwavering backing for Resistance groups, reiterating Iran’s commitment to confronting the Israeli regime.
Fahs conveyed the congratulations of Nabih Berri, Lebanon's parliamentary speaker and head of the Amal Movement, to Araghchi on his recent appointment as Iran's foreign minister. In return, Araghchi praised the efforts of Amal and Hezbollah fighters, highlighting their sacrifices in defending Lebanon and the occupied Palestinian territories from Israeli aggression.
Araghchi made it clear that Iran's support for Resistance movements is not just a tactical stance but a deeply rooted policy, grounded in the Islamic Republic’s principles.
He stressed that the struggle of these groups against Israeli occupation is legitimate and deserves full backing. The discussion also touched on the latest regional developments, focusing on the status of the Resistance Front in Lebanon, the situation in the Palestinian territories, and the escalating Israeli military operations in Gaza.
The foreign minister’s statements align with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s firm commitment to strengthening the Resistance Front. Since taking office in late July, Pezeshkian has vowed to intensify Iran’s efforts to support the struggle against Israel, urging greater unity among Muslims in their collective fight against the Zionist regime.
In a separate meeting with Sheikh Naim Qassem, the deputy secretary-general of Hezbollah, in Tehran on July 30, President Pezeshkian commended Hezbollah fighters for their unwavering courage and resilience in confronting Israeli aggression.
The president reiterated that supporting the Axis of Resistance is not only a key policy of the Islamic Republic but also a religious obligation.
