Iran, Iraq ink 14 cooperation documents
TEHRAN – Iraq and Iraq signed 14 cooperation documents in commercial, economic, cultural, and social areas on Wednesday.
The documents were signed by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein at the presence of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani.
The documents are primarily in areas of training of skilled workforce, sports, education, religious tourism, agriculture, natural resources and cooperation between the chambers of commerce.
Pezeshkian arrived in Iraq on Wednesday in his first foreign trip since officially took over as president. He was warmly welcomed by Prime Minister al-Sudani at Baghdad’s international airport.
The Iranian president was accompanied by a top delegation. The president also plans to visit the Iraqi Kurdistan region during his stay in Iraq.
