Pakistan’s Defence Day commemorated in Tehran
TEHRAN – The Embassy of Pakistan in Tehran organized a special ceremony at Pakistan House to mark Pakistan’s Defence Day, honoring the sacrifices of Pakistani soldiers in safeguarding the nation’s borders and sovereignty.
The event, held on Friday, was attended by over 200 guests, including high-ranking civil and military officials from the diplomatic community, business leaders, and other prominent figures based in Tehran.
Ambassador Muhammad Mudassir Tipu welcomed the attendees and expressed his gratitude to Brigadier General Muhammad Ahadi, Chief of Defence Diplomacy and International Relations of the Iranian Armed Forces, who served as the chief guest.
Ambassador Tipu highlighted the significance of General Ahadi’s presence, noting that it would further strengthen the already growing bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan. "Since the beginning of this year, we have turned a new page in our relationship. The political, military, and security leadership of both nations has played a vital and sincere role in solidifying and expanding these crucial ties," he remarked.
During the event, Defense and Army Attaché Brigadier Muhammad Obaid Khan reflected on the importance of Defence Day, paying tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of Pakistani soldiers.
Brigadier General Muhammad Ahadi congratulated Pakistan on its Defence Day and acknowledged the close cooperation between the Iranian and Pakistani armed forces. He praised the significant steps taken by both countries to ensure security along their shared border, transforming it into a "border of friendship and prosperity." He emphasized that the determination of both nations to maintain security on both sides of the border has been instrumental in fostering peace and cooperation.
During the ceremony, the messages from Pakistan's President and Prime Minister were read aloud, reinforcing the significance of the day. The event concluded with guests enjoying traditional Pakistani cuisine, adding a cultural touch to the day’s proceedings.
