Israel army destroys 25km of Jenin city
The Palestinian Civil Defense said the Israeli army destroyed about 25 kilometers of Jenin’s city, camp streets and neighborhoods in the military operation lasting around ten days.
The Civil Defense issued a statement: “According to the initial damage assessment, more than 25 kilometers of Jenin’s city and camp streets and neighborhoods were completely destroyed by the occupation forces during their operations in the city,” Middle East Monitor reported.
It pointed out that the destruction included street infrastructure, water, electricity and sewage networks.
The statement explained that the Civil Defense crews, in cooperation with partner institutions, have begun reconstruction work: “It is difficult to determine the damage to the city and camp at the moment. This requires more time, as the occupation also partially destroyed homes, shops and streets.”
Local sources reported on Friday that the Israeli army withdrew from the cities of Tulkarm and Jenin, as well as their camps in the northern occupied West Bank, following a military operation resulting in 39 martyrs.
