Iran says Palestinian victory inevitable in struggle against Israel
TEHRAN – Iran’s foreign ministry spokesman has expressed strong confidence that the Palestinian people will ultimately prevail in their ongoing struggle against the Israeli regime.
In a message shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, coinciding with Arbaeen Day, Nasser Kanaani emphasized that the sacrifices of innocent Palestinians, who have been killed by Israeli forces, will pave the way for their eventual triumph.
Arbaeen marks the 40th day following the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Hossein (AS), the third Shia Imam, revered by Muslims for his stand against the tyranny of his era, Yazid.
Kanaani drew parallels between Imam Hossein's fight for justice and the current plight of the Palestinian people, underscoring that the spirit of resistance and righteousness embodied in Arbaeen should inspire support for Palestine.
Kanaani further highlighted that the lesson of Arbaeen is to stand firmly on the side of justice and to oppose oppression, drawing a direct connection to the current situation in Gaza.
He pointed out that over the past 11 months, Israeli actions have resulted in the deaths of more than 40,000 Palestinians, the majority of whom were women and children.
The ongoing tragedy, Kanaani argued, only strengthens the resolve of the Palestinian people to resist and ensures that they will eventually emerge victorious against their oppressors.
Since the outbreak of war on October 7 last year, large swathes of Gaza have been reduced to rubble under a devastating blockade that has cut off essential supplies of food, clean water, and medicine.
Repeated attempts at negotiations have so far failed to secure a ceasefire in the relentless Israeli assault on Gaza.
