Iranian clerics reaffirm support for Resistance Front
TEHRAN – A senior Iranian cleric has reaffirmed the steadfast support of the Iranian clergy and religious seminaries for Hezbollah and the broader Resistance Front.
In a letter addressed to Hezbollah Secretary-General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, Ayatollah Alireza A’rafi, a prominent figure in Iran's religious and political spheres, emphasized the unwavering commitment of Iran’s religious community to the Resistance movement.
Ayatollah A’rafi, who also serves as a member of Iran's Guardian Council, expressed deep respect and admiration for the efforts and sacrifices made by the Resistance fighters. "The seminaries and senior clerics honor the brave fighters in the resistance front," A’rafi wrote, highlighting the solidarity of Iran’s religious institutions with Hezbollah.
"We stand by you with all our strength," he added, underscoring the depth of Iran's support for the Resistance.
The letter also conveyed Ayatollah A’rafi's condolences on the martyrdom of Fuad Shukr, a senior Hezbollah military commander. Shukr was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike in Beirut on July 30.
In his message, Ayatollah A’rafi condemned the actions of the Israeli regime and its allies, accusing them of violating all ethical, humanitarian, legal, and international norms. He stated that it has become evident to the world that the Zionist regime and its supporters operate without regard for these fundamental principles.
Ayatollah A’rafi further stressed that the resistance front faces no other option but to eliminate what he referred to as the "cancerous tumor" of Israel. He pointed to the ongoing victories of the Resistance as evidence of the legitimacy of their cause, asserting that these successes validate their struggle against Israeli atrocities and genocide.
This message from Ayatollah A’rafi comes at a time of heightened tension in the region, reflecting Iran's continued support for Hezbollah and its opposition to Israeli policies.
