Haniyeh’s assassination aimed to sow division among Muslims: commander
TEHRAN- The spokesman and deputy head of the public relations office of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) stated that the Israeli regime assassinated the Hamas leader to create a rift among Shia and Sunni Muslims.
During a media briefing on National Reporter’s Day, Brigadier General Ali Mohammad Naeeni stated that the enemy is currently waging a hybrid war against Islamic Iran, targeting economic, political, psychological, and cultural sectors.
He also mentioned that the recent terror attacks on Iran and Lebanon, as well as the earlier assassination of Martyr Zahedi, are part of an ongoing psychological campaign.
The IRGC spokesman noted, “The enemy aims to initiate a psychological war through these terror attacks to further their agenda.”
Haniyeh, the political bureau chief of the Palestinian Resistance movement Hamas, and one of his bodyguards were assassinated at their residence in Tehran on Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
