Iranian President reaffirms support for Resistance forces in meetings with top leaders
TEHRAN – Iran's new President Masoud Pezeshkian has reaffirmed the country's unwavering support for Resistance forces, declaring that Iran will continue to aid these groups in their fight against Zionist and Western forces.
Pezeshkian met with several Resistance leaders in Tehran on separate occasions on Monday and Tuesday.
While talking to Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Pezeshkian was briefed on the latest political and field developments about Gaza, after he vowed that Iran's firm position is “standing by the Palestinian people.”
“I wish for the victory of the people of Palestine and the Palestinian Resistance movement in their fight against aggression,” the president told Haniyeh.
Hamas’ political chief, for his part, thanked Iran and its officials for their “honorable position” in supporting the Palestinian nation.
Iran's stance toward Al-Quds doesn’t change with the change of governments
In a meeting with Ziad al-Nakhalah, the Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement, Pezeshkian noted that Tehran will always continue to support Palestinians in their endeavors for freedom, no matter who takes office as Iran’s president.
"Supporting the cause of the oppressed Palestinian nation will continue with strength and nothing can disrupt our will and resolve on this issue,” he said, adding, “More efforts are needed to create harmony among Islamic countries and increase pressure on the Zionist regime to stop the crimes and killings in Gaza.”
Pezeshkian lauds Hezbollah's resilience against Zionist aggressions
In a meeting with Naim Qassem, Deputy Secretary General of Lebanon's Hezbollah, who visited Tehran for the inauguration of Iran's 14th presidential term, President Pezeshkian lauded Hezbollah's resilience against Zionist aggressions.
President Pezeshkian highlighted the importance of enhancing relations with Muslim countries and fostering unity within Islamic societies as key priorities for his administration’s foreign policy. He stressed the need for the Islamic Ummah to unite against the Zionist regime's brutality in Gaza.
He described supporting the Resistance front as a religious duty and a fundamental policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. “The crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza, backed by the United States and some Western countries, are a stain on the record of those claiming to advocate human rights,” Pezeshkian said. He added that unity among Islamic countries, as advised by the Prophet of Islam, could prevent such atrocities against the Palestinian people.
'Yemen’s support for Palestinians has put Israel, backers under pressure'
President Masoud Pezeshkian on Tuesday expressed hope that injustice against Muslims would come to an end through cooperation among Muslim nations.
Pezeshkian made the remarks in a meeting with Mohammad Abdul Salam, the Ansarallah spokesman and chief negotiator of the Yemeni National Salvation Government, IRNA reported on Tuesday morning.
The new Iranian president also described the relations between Iran and Yemen, which are based on common beliefs and common cultural affinities, as “unbreakable.”
Pezeshkian also lauded Yemen’s moves in defending the people of Gaza who have been under relentless Israeli bombardments and other despicable acts since October last year.
“The moves of Yemen in defending the Palestinian nation have been highly important and influential and they have put the Zionist regime and its supporters under pressure,” the president remarked.
He also said, “The resistance of the Yemeni nation in the face of pressures and hostilities by the oppressors is also admirable.”
