Iranian multidisciplinary artist Mohammad Ali Famori participating in Italy’s Vasto Award
TEHRAN-The Iranian multidisciplinary artist Mohammad Ali Famori has participated in the 56th Vasto Contemporary Art Award, which was launched in the Province of Chieti, Italy, on July 27.
He is one of the 12 artists invited by Antonio Zimarino, secretary of the event. Famori has presented one of his video glitch arts there, Mehr reported.
In the video art, Famori has managed to create a dynamic image with the help of fractals, which reflects a ceaseless movement.
Famori studied photography at the Tehran University of Art, and later at the Islamic Azad University, from where he graduated with a master’s degree in cultural management.
He is specialized in spearheading exhibitions and creative projects including running the first glitch video art group exhibition in Iran. He has more than 10 years of experience in art directing, graphic design, photography, and visual arts, as well as exhibiting his works in 28 international exhibitions.
Glitch art is the practice of using digital or analog errors for aesthetic purposes by either corrupting digital data or physically manipulating electronic devices.
Famori is also the founder of Platform 101, an independent and non-profit institution promoting trailblazing artists and cutting-edge forms of art.
The Vasto Contemporary Art Award was established in the summer of 1959. The first edition of the Prize, dedicated to the main Vasto painters of the time, was followed by two impromptu artistic meetings and a significant series of group exhibitions, which combined thematic-problematic investigations with tributes, anthologies, and reports.
Since 1975 the Prize has abandoned its role as an artistic competition to transform itself into a quality art exhibition, entrusted to critics of great caliber.
This year’s edition of the Vasto Contemporary Art Award will run until October 26.
