TEHRAN – Iran’s president-elect Masoud Pezeshkian has sent a message to the Bahraini king thanking him for his congratulatory message over his presidential win.

“Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa had received a message from Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, the president-elect of the Islamic Republic of Iran, to his congratulatory letter,” Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported on Saturday.

Pezeshkian thanked the Bahrain king for his “expression of brotherly feeling” in his congratulatory message.

The president-elect Pezeshkian also welcomed deepening “friendly ties” between the two countries and all neighboring and regional countries based on dialogue and reciprocal respect, the BNA said.

Pezeshkian will be sworn in as president on Tuesday. 300 foreign guests, including the Iraqi and Pakistani prime ministers, will participate in the swearing-in ceremony.
