Guardian Council endorses Masoud Pezeshkian’s credentials
TEHRAN- Iran’s Guardian Council has validated the credentials of Masoud Pezeshkian and has forwarded them to the office of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution for Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei's review.
Hadi Tahan Nazif the spokesman of the Guardian Council, announced that the credentials of the elected president have been signed by the members of the Guardian Council and sent to the Leader's office after being approved by the board.
“This action was taken under Article 2 of the Presidential Elections Law, which states that the president's credentials must be validated by the Guardian Council before being presented to the Leader of Islamic Revolution,” he added.
Once Ayatollah Khamenei approves the credentials, the necessary administrative steps for issuing the decree and organizing the inauguration ceremony of Pezeshkian will commence
The inauguration ceremony of the president-elect will be held in the Iranian parliament on July 30 with the presence of the head of the Supreme Court, members of the Guardian Council, the head of the Judiciary, Several political figures from neighboring countries, as well as other national and military officials.
Earlier, the Guardian Council had announced that the Prime Ministers of Iraq and Pakistan would be attending the inauguration.
