CIPCC 2024 program closing ceremony held at Renmin University of China
BEIJING- The Closing Ceremony of the Program on China Development Studies and Media Exchange for the China International Press Communication Center (CIPCC)2024 was held at Renmin University of China (RUC) on Tuesday.
The ceremony hosted by Prof. Zhong Xin, Director of CIPCC-RUC Program, was held at the School of Journalism and Communication (SJC) of the RUC.
The ceremony started with the introduction of the participants, and then continued with the review of the 10th anniversary of the program.
Then, Prof. Zhang HuiFeng, Chairperson of School Council, SJC, RUC, and Mr. Liu Yutong, Counsellor, Department of Press, Communication and Public Diplomacy, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the People’s Republic of China, delivered speech.
After that, the certificates of completion were awarded to the journalists participating in CIPCC 2024 program.
Prof. Yan Yan, Vice Chairperson of School Council, SJC, RUC, was the next speaker, who introduced the “One Belt One Road” Global Journalism and Communication (BRJC).
Then, Assistant Prof. Ma Xiaofen, SJC, RUC, introduced New Era International Communication Research Institute (NEICRI) and Global Public Opinion Research Center (GPORC).
Introduction of “Narrating China” Studio by Miss. Dong Xiruo, Editor-in-chief of “Narrating China” Studio, Undergraduate of SJC, RUC, was the last part of the ceremony, and after that there was a question and answer session.
At the end, the journalists visited different parts of the university compound and took some pictures.
It should be mentioned that these journalists have been participating in a four-month program organized by the China International Press Communication Center (CIPCC).
CIPCC, under the China Public Diplomacy Association (CPDA), has initiated a program to build a platform for the media from countries around the world, especially developing countries, to observe China and study development in this country.
In each edition of the program, journalists from all around the world gather together to get familiar with the modern China and exchange their experiences in the field of journalism.
In 2024 edition of the program, started in late February, over 100 journalists from more than 90 countries have been participating.
The program included different activities such as visiting some important sites, and attending conferences and lectures.
Many of the lecturers in this program were from Renmin University.
Renmin University of China (RUC, also known as the People's University of China) is a key university in China. The RUC's strengths emphasize the humanities and social sciences; however, the university also embraces disciplines in the area of natural sciences. The RUC is a comprehensive research-orientated university.
The RUC was established in 1937, during the resistance war against Japanese aggression. The University acquired its present name on October 3, 1950, which made it the first university to be established by the newly founded People's Republic of China.
