TEHRAN – Khamenei.ir, covering the Leader of the Islamic Revolution’s activities and thoughts, has urged people worldwide to join a campaign demanding the public rejection of the Zionist regime.

In a post on X, the media arm of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei asked users to write “death to Israel” seven times and express their repudiation of Zionism through the symbolic act. 

The move came after in his annual Hajj message, Ayatollah Khamenei called on millions of Muslim pilgrims from around the globe who commenced their pilgrimage in Mecca Saturday to demonstrate their "renunciation of the Zionist regime and its supporters, in particular the U.S., in words and actions".

"This year's renunciation of the polytheists must continue beyond the time and place of Hajj to all Muslim countries and cities worldwide. It must continue beyond just the Hajj pilgrims and be extended to the general populace," he added.

Israel which had been relying on propaganda and Western control of mass media for decades to portray a democratic and progressive image of itself, has been under scathing scrutiny in the past months for its latest war against Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip. 

The West’s lack of control over certain social media platforms like Tik Tok, has laid bare Israel’s brutal and criminal treatment of Palestinians in an unprecedented way. 

Public opinion around the world is increasingly turning against the Zionist regime, especially in Western nations where citizens have taken to the streets multiple times to ask for divestment from Israel. 

Since the beginning of its latest war in Gaza, the regime has murdered over 37,000 civilians, razed almost the entire enclave to the ground, and instigated a famine there. 

Its actions have been justified by Western politicians, who continuously reject Israel is committing war crimes, as self-defense.
