TEHRAN – Head of Iran’s National Paralympic Committee (NPC) Ghafour Karegari met with president of the World Taekwondo (WT) Chungwon Choue at the World Taekwondo headquarters in Seoul, South Korea on Saturday.

Karegari requested Choue to award a Universality slot (wild card) to para taekwondo athlete Mahdi Pourrahnama in Paris.

The South Korean president also appreciated Iran’s NPC for support of para taekwondo in the country.

Universality places are usually awarded to athletes who struggle to secure slots in the Olympics or Paralympics through normal qualification.
