TEHRAN-The 8th Ramsgate International Film Festival, due to be held from June 25 to 30 in the UK, has selected several Iranian films and series to show in various sections.

In the Web and TV Series section, the Iranian series “Lily’s Turn” directed by Ruhollah Hejazi represents the country, Mehr reported.

In the series, the main character Lili, through a mysterious book, discovers that she and her family have lived in many times and places, and now it is Lily’s turn to decipher the book and find a valuable painting of her ancestors to make a choice that gives meaning to all these lives.

The fantasy romance drama series stars Pardis Ahmadieh, Hamid Farrokhnezhad, and Merila Zarei among others.

The sole Iranian feature film participating in the Feature Film section is “Orbital” written and directed by Maysam Hasanzadeh.

The 72-minute film is about a musician who’s lost his lover. He seeks to unravel the story. He’s suspicious of everything, even of his greatest dream, to become like Freddie Mercury!

Milad Khazaei, Mahsa Akbarpur, Rahil Kafi, Reza Sanaei, and Mostafa Amiri are in the cast.

In the Short Film section, three short films from Iran will take part including “But I Liked Him” by Asal Gharib, “Children of Wild Orchid” by Farshad Mohammadi, and “I Won’t Remain Alone” by Yaser Talebi.

The Ramsgate International Film Festival is a celebration of new works by local and international filmmakers, embracing innovative storytelling and new technologies, where diversity and inclusion are a matter of fact. The festival wants to nurture emerging talents and confirmed filmmakers.

The festival's focus is to show new works and help promote filmmakers. Screenings are complemented by a strong program of quality events and seminars, with industry professionals of high reputation, who have already confirmed their attendance.

The Ramsgate International Film Festival also features discussion panels with prominent industry representatives and specially curated programs promoting international cinema.

Disability and accessibility are at the forefront of the festival's pre-occupations and talks/events will be presented to support the community.
