Leader extends condolences to Hezbollah chief over mother’s passing
TEHRAN - Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, extended his heartfelt condolences to the Secretary General of the Lebanese Hezbollah resistance movement, Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, following the loss of his mother.
In a message conveyed on Sunday, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed his deep sympathy over the departure of Nasrallah's mother, Nahdiya Safieddine.
The Leader commended the deceased for raising the “tireless Seyyed of resistance”, Hassan Nasrallah.
Furthermore, Ayatollah Khamenei invoked divine mercy and forgiveness upon her soul, while also wishing success to Nasrallah and his comrades in their steadfast stance within the vast front of resistance.
On May 25, Hezbollah announced with profound sorrow the passing of Umm Hassan after a prolonged battle with illness. The Lebanese group lauded Umm Hassan as a devoted and virtuous mother who nurtured a devout, diligent, and honorable family.
"The loss is grievous and the sorrow is great, but we are consoled by the decree of Allah and His will, accepting His judgment and His wisdom," the statement read.
Resistance groups across West Asia have also offered condolences to Hezbollah’s secretary general over the passing. “With great sorrow, we received the news of the passing of your honorable mother. We extend our condolences and sympathy to Your Eminence, at a time when our people in Lebanon are standing in solidarity with their brothers in Palestine,” said Ismail Haniyeh, Hamas’ political chief, in a Sunday statement.
The Palestinian Islamic Jihad resistance movement also expressed “sincere condolences and sympathy” towards the Hezbollah chief.
