A note on FM Amir Abdollahian: A man of battlefield and diplomacy
TEHRAN - “Say, ‘Nothing will ever befall us except what Allah has destined for us. He is our Protector.’ So in Allah let the believers put their trust” (9:51).
Not only was he named after Imam Hussein (AS) but he also was a diligent follower of the revered third Shia Imam. Hossein Amir Abdollahian was a kind, polite, and patient man, and certainly a skilled diplomat. He transitioned from the battlefield to the realm of diplomacy, making him knowledgeable in both areas. He was a selfless veteran of the Iran-Iraq War and an experienced politician in various diplomatic fields.
He embodied courtesy to everyone, exemplifying this verse of Quran, “And do not walk on the earth arrogantly” (17:37). Instead, he was among those who walked on the earth with humility and gentleness, " The ‘true’ servants of the Most Compassionate are those who walk on the earth humbly" (26:63). He never hid his affection for the Resistance Front or for the individuals in this field. In his first meeting after becoming Foreign Minister, he shared many memories of the esteemed martyr, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, which shall take another opportunity to recount, but his love for General Soleimani was evident in everything he did.
Our Foreign Minister now rests in peace. Blessings and salutations upon the noble soul of this man of both the battlefield and diplomacy;
“Their greeting on the Day they meet Him will be, ‘Peace!’ And He has prepared for them an honorable reward” (33:44).
