Massive funeral ceremonies for President a message to the world in favor of Iran: Leader
TEHRAN – Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei visited the family of late Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi on Wednesday night to offer his condolences.
During the meeting, he commended President Raisi, portraying him as a symbol of the Islamic Revolution's ideals and emphasizing the nation's admiration for him as a reflection of the Islamic Republic's resilience.
The Leader mourned the absence of President Raisi, characterizing it as an immeasurable loss for the nation.
Ayatollah Khamenei also took note of the significant turnout at President Raisi's funeral, highlighting its importance in showcasing the grassroots support for the Islamic Republic deeply embedded within Iranian society.
Throughout the gathering, Ayatollah Khamenei underscored the enduring impact of the late president's genuine service, which transcended his lifetime, echoing even after his death. He commended the kindness, affection, and respect exhibited by citizens across various cities in the aftermath of the tragedy, underscoring their unwavering dedication to the revolution and its principles.
Emphasizing Raisi’s embodiment of the Islamic Revolution's slogans, Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that the essence of the Islamic Revolution found expression through the president, who internalized these slogans as his own.
Concluding the visit, the Leader offered prayers for the late President and beseeched the Almighty for patience for the surviving family members.
President Raisi, Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian, along with their companions, lost their lives tragically in a helicopter crash as they were returning from an inauguration ceremony in Azerbaijan.
President Raisi was laid to rest on Thursday afternoon at the Imam Reza holy Shrine in Mashhad, a significant religious site for millions of Shia pilgrims.
