TEHRAN – All sports competitions in Iran have been canceled as a sign of mourning on the occasion of the crash of the helicopter carrying the President of Iran Ibrahim Raisi, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, the Iranian Foreign Minister, and other officials.
The Iran's Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs canceled the all sports activities until the end of this week.
Sunday’s crash occurred as Raisi, 63, and Amir Abdollahian were returning from a ceremony for an opening of a dam on Iran’s border with Azerbaijan.
Iran’s Persian Gulf Pro League (PGPL) round of 28 has been also canceled until further notice.
