Opt. True Promise sparked pro-Palestinian student movements, says general
TEHRAN - The chief of the Basij Construction Organization has stated that Operation Al Aqsa Storm has led to a global awakening and that Iran's retaliatory response to Israel has ignited uprisings and pro-Palestinian student movements in universities worldwide.
On April 1, the Israeli regime conducted airstrikes on the consular section of Iran's embassy in Damascus, Syria, resulting in the deaths of two IRGC generals, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi and General Mohammad Hadi Haji Rahimi, along with five of their accompanying officers.
In response, the IRGC launched Operation True Promise on April 13, targeting Israeli military bases across the occupied Palestinian territories with a series of drone and missile strikes.
The Chief of Iran’s Army, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, also declared on Friday that the Islamic Republic’s retaliatory response to the Zionist regime, known as Operation True Promise, will hasten the liberation of Palestine and the downfall of the Zionist regime.
General Mohammad Zahraei also stated that the reality of the Palestine issue had been concealed for 80 years, but Operation Al Aqsa Storm sparked a global awakening, revealing the truth to people worldwide.
The Al-Aqsa Storm operation, executed by the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas on October 7, 2023, marked a pivotal event that significantly altered the geopolitical landscape of Palestine and the broader West Asia region.
General Mohammad Zahraei claimed that Western media outlets have attempted to hide the genocide and killing of children by Zionists in Gaza, but the truth has now been revealed to people worldwide.
According to the general, the current uprisings stem from global support for Palestinians.
He also called for a more active media role, urging the country's outlets to adopt a proactive approach rather than a defensive stance in confronting Western media narratives.
