Islamic Iran achieved success wherever it faced sanctions: IRGC chief
TEHRAN - Major General Hossein Salami, the chief commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), has underscored the resilience of Iran in the face of imposed sanctions on the nation.
Speaking on Monday, General Salami highlighted how Iran has transformed sanctions into opportunities, emphasizing the nation's "significant achievements" on the global stage.
General Salami stated that Iran has consistently overcome sanctions and challenges, attributing the strength of the Islamic Republic to its resistance and progress in various spheres.
He pointed to the notion that sanctions were intended to paralyze Iran, emphasizing instead the nation's determination and advancement in the face of adversity.
Furthermore, the general pointed out that the confidence in Iran's armed forces stems from the trust placed in the system by the people.
He emphasized the importance of unity with the people in navigating difficulties and sanctions successfully.
In his address, General Salami warned of potential threats from adversaries using their resources against Iran. However, he expressed confidence that under the leadership of Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and with the support of the nation, Iran will continue to make progress and get strengthened.
Salami concluded by affirming the commitment of all officials to serve the people, vowing to utilize the nation's strength and capabilities for their benefit.
Earlier on February 26, Major General Hossein Salami said, “Today, we’re witnessing the enemies' crimes in Palestine.”
He went on to add, “They are seeking to attain victory for themselves by killing children, women, and defenseless people.”
The Israeli regime has so far failed to achieve any of its goals in the Gaza Strip.
“We believe in these dear people’s victory, and know that divine victory is with the devoted people, who do not give up resistance in this lopsided war.”
Following the October 7 al-Aqsa Storm, a surprise operation orchestrated by Hamas during which about 250 Israelis were taken prisoner, the Israeli regime declared war on the coastal enclave.
Thus far, the military assault has claimed the lives of about 30,000 people, most of them women and children, with unwavering political and military backing from the United States.
Nonetheless, the resistance groups in the region have promised to keep fighting the occupying regime and hold off on freeing the detainees until the war is completely stopped.
