Historical-political quarterly magazine “Majara” unveiled
TEHRAN-The unveiling ceremony of the historical and political quarterly magazine “Majara” (literally meaning Story in Persian) took place on Monday at the House of Young Intellectuals in Tehran.
Distinguished guests included Deputy of Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Manouchehr Mottaki, Head of the Art Bureau Mohammad Mehdi Dadman, and the magazine’s editor-in-chief Javad Mogouyi, the Art Bureau website reported.
According to Mogouyi, the magazine’s approach will focus on post-revolutionary events. He stated, “We have taken the first step toward delving into the memories of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei. I hope this issue will spark discussions and conversations”.
He further elaborated on the magazine’s perspective, emphasizing that post-revolutionary historiography has been neglected, especially the events of the 1960s. He highlighted the challenge of accessing historical documents, noting that certain sensitive topics remain restricted. Additionally, the lack of firsthand accounts from political figures hinders a comprehensive understanding of that era.
Bagheri Kani praised the magazine’s courage and initiative. He emphasized the importance of researching national security, asserting that the collected interviews and images in “Majara” hold value for understanding the needs of the current and future generations in Iran and beyond.
In a field as critical as historical research, where diverse perspectives intersect, “Majara” aims to contribute credible and robust content. The magazine seeks to engage readers in meaningful dialogue while shedding light on pivotal moments in Iran’s history.
