TEHRAN – Iran's Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council has underscored the imperative for regional entities like Shanghai and BRICS to bolster collaboration in this critical era.

In a focused session addressing information security guarantees within the evolving multipolar landscape, held during the Saint Petersburg Security Summit and attended by representatives from 106 nations, Ali Akbar Ahmadian outlined a strategy entailing the establishment of novel tools, institutions, and frameworks to counterbalance the aggressive actions of the West.

Ahmadian elaborated on Iran's comprehensive proposal, advocating for both bilateral and multilateral engagement in international information security endeavors, echoing Iran's established theoretical framework on the matter.

Furthermore, he proposed the broadening of international institutions and structures in information and cyber security to dismantle the hegemony currently dominated by a single nation or axis. In addition, Ahmadian urged concerted efforts in crafting legislation and guidelines pertaining to global information and cyber security, stressing the necessity for unified defense against the U.S. unilateralism in cyberspace.

Iran's fourth proposition to the attendees of the Saint Petersburg Security Summit centered on the formation of anti-sanction alliances and the utilization of non-American platforms for financial, economic, and administrative transactions.

Moreover, Ahmadian suggested the decentralized production of hardware, software, data centers, and platforms among sovereign states as a key component of Iran's holistic approach.

Additionally, Ahmadian addressed recent Israeli incursions on Iranian interests, notably the attack on Iran's consulate in Damascus.

The Iranian Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council arrived in Saint Petersburg on Tuesday to participate in the 12th International Security Summit of Russia and the meeting of the Secretaries of the National Security Council of the BRICS countries.

Ahmadian's itinerary for this trip is packed with engagements, including discussions with counterparts from Russia, Brazil, South Africa, China, India, and Iraq.

Ahmadian's strategic presence in Saint Petersburg commenced with a meeting with his Iraqi counterpart, focusing on the implementation of a pivotal security agreement between Iran and Iraq. This diplomatic engagement underscores Iran's proactive approach to regional security dynamics and its commitment to fostering bilateral partnerships in the face of escalating tensions.

The retaliatory strikes launched by Iran against Israel in April have amplified its role as a significant regional player and laid bare vulnerabilities within the Israeli regime, which traditionally relies on staunch support from the U.S. and its allies.
