TEHRAN – Sepahan football team kept their title hopes alive with a 2-1 win over Malavn on Sunday in the 2023/24 Iran’s Persian Gulf Pro League (PGPL).

In the match held in Bandar Anzali’s Ghayeghran Stadium, Mohammadreza Soleymani was on target for the hosts in the 11th minute but Shahriar Moghanlou leveled the score from the penalty spot just before the break.

Moghanlou made it 2-1 in the 73rd minute.

Earlier in the day, Zob Ahan defeated Aluminum 2-1 in Isfahan.

With six weeks remaining, Sepahan are third with 45 points, eight points behind leaders Esteghlal.
