TEHRAN – Iran’s Abbas Pourasgari/Alireza Aghajani came second in the AVC Beach Tour 23rd Samila Open on Tuesday.

Australian fifth seeds Paul Burnett/Jack Pearse, who won their first Beach Pro Tour Futures event together last November in Geelong, overcame Pourasgari/ Aghajani 21-17, 21-18 in the final.

The competition was held in Songkhla, Thailand from April 13 to 16.

It was Iran’s third medal in volleyball in the recent weeks. Team Melli won a silver medal at the 2024 China International Snow Volleyball Invitational Tournament in late March.

Iran also won the gold medal of the “Smart” AVC Beach Tour Nuvali Open in Philippines’ City of Santa Rosa on April 7.
