Syria puts ground-to-air defense systems on high alert

Citing army sources, Reuters reported that Syria has put its Russian-made Pantsir ground-to-air defense systems on high alert around the capital Damascus and major bases in the event of Israeli strikes.

The decision by Syria followed after Iran launched extensive drone and missile attacks on Israel in retaliation for the regime’s air strike on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus on April 1 in violation of the Vienna conventions.

In that attack seven Iranian military advisors were assassinated.

Barak Ravid, a political reporter for Axios, posted on X that Iran has launched an attack against Israel using dozens of drones.
