TEHRAN- A memorial installation honoring the children martyred in Gaza, titled "Ten Thousand Worlds," is currently on display at the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMCA). 

The sculpture installation features 10,000 child sculptures and 10,000 small paintings, Mehr reported on Saturday. 

The installation was originally planned to be held on February 20 in the courtyard of Ferdows Garden, but was canceled by the municipality.

Designed by Hossein Vanaki and Abuzar Vanaki, this installation draws attention to the silence of human rights advocates regarding the crimes committed by the Zionist regime in Gaza and will remain on display until April 18.

Save the Children Organization revealed on April 4 that nearly 26,000 children, which amounts to just over two percent of Gaza's child population, have been killed or injured during the six-month-long war that has devastated the health system and disrupted access to education.

According to the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the Ministry of Health in Gaza, since the October 7 attacks, more than 13,800 children have lost their lives in Gaza, with 113 fatalities reported in the West Bank. Moreover, over 12,009 children have been wounded in Gaza, while at least 725 children in the West Bank have been injured. UNICEF reported that approximately 1,000 children have undergone amputations on one or both legs, and around 30 out of 36 hospitals have been bombed, leaving only 10 partially operational.

The attacks on ambulances, medical aid convoys, and access routes have severely impacted Gaza's health system and hindered healthcare access, particularly at a time when the 1.1 million children in Gaza are most in need of it.

Al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza's largest medical facility, was subjected to a two-week siege and assault, resulting in significant damage and restricting essential medical services for children requiring treatment. The Gaza Ministry of Health has reported numerous fatalities inside and outside the hospital.

On April 9, Human Rights Watch highlighted that children in Gaza are succumbing to starvation-related complications, as the Israeli government has weaponized starvation, deemed a war crime. Doctors and families in Gaza have witnessed children, along with pregnant and nursing mothers, suffering from severe malnutrition and dehydration. Unfortunately, hospitals in Gaza are ill-equipped to adequately address these critical health issues.
